Curiosity
Viognier is an indigenous variety of Rhône Valley, where it was introduced by Emperor Marcus Aurelius Probus, who probably brought it from the Balkans. In recent times the Viognier is back in the spotlight, and it is cultivated from severals producers in the Orvieto area, since here the variety found the ideal terroir.
